Conversations with our elders is like looking into the future…

History repeats it’s self, we all understand this.

The problem is that after something happens, the fixing begins and that itself is a problem. If we only fix the results and ignore the orientation, the door is left wide open for the same results to manifest again and again. The solution is to learn from the result and eliminate the problem at the creation point.

For us humans the creation point is our thinking.

But, we don’t know what we don’t know…I know, that’s why I believe that talking with our elders is like seeing into the future. I’d bet that there are people alive today that have experienced problems you and I are facing right now. Even if the elder didn’t over come the problem, the experience of the problem creates a complete comprehensive understanding in 3D if you will, and the answer to eliminate that problem from happening is realized. Remember that every problem has a solution, if it does not have a solution then it is not a problem.

I’ve been asked a million times and counting, how I have become aware of life so far past my years. I’m thritysomething and provide advice to people ranging from ages 6 to 60 and get everyone inline with their universe, fast, fun and easily.

I believe this conscious comprehensive understanding I have developed over the years, comes from 20 years spent growing up by my fathers side. I hung out with him and his friends like most kids hang with peers of their own age, and my fathers friends always treated me with respect, respected my opinion and always was interested in what I had to say. And, in turn I was interested in what they all had to say and still do. I’ve built my understanding of life by way of experience, mine and through my elders.

This is why I say that conversations with our elders is like looking into the future, because history repeats itself, and if we find people that have experience with a problem you are facing today, then you can learn from that experience and actually be in position to beat hind sight and achieve.

When you find yourself in a situation where you are in the company of an elder, ask one simple question…

“Have you ever experienced__(YOU FILL IN THE BLANK)___ “

Just fill in the blank with any problem that you are facing in your life at that time. I remember one time I was on BART passing through the Bay Area, San Francisco bound I had a good 30 minutes on the train.
When I entered the train from the Bay Fair platform, first I looked for an empty area when I could have some privacy but quickly reminded myself that this could be an opportunity to learn something of great value. That’s when I saw Mr. Ernie Bourdine. He sat in the center of the train, back to the doors, he was a little slunched over most of his weight rested on an oak cain. He wore a sweat warriors hat, blue jeans, sneakers and a Nike golf shirt.

I sat in the seats across from Mr. Bourdine.

The train pulled away from the station, immediately Mr. Bourdine speaks out to me.

“Where ya headed young man?” Bourdine gently shouts.

“The City” Responds Gary.

“The City?, We pass though 6 by line end where is your destination son?”
Bourdine laughing.

“I’m headed to San Francisco” Gary answers.

“San Francisco!” Replies Bourdine, “Gotta see a man about a horse huh?”

“Something like that” says Gary.

This is when I realized my moment, I physically froze, my mind raced like a hardrive computing millions of bytes of information and then I spoke…” Have you ever experienced interviewing for a job you’re not qualified for, but you need?”

It was like the heavens opened up and the hand of God reached out into the BART TRAIN, Mr. Bourdine was so ready to preach.

“Have I?, Son, I can tell you this, I am 72 years old and I have not punched a clock for 50 years.”

Gary asks, “So you’re an entrepreneur then?”

“That’s right, and in my day I have worked hundreds of different temp jobs to keep things moving, married a wonderful woman and raised a great family.” answers Bourdine.

“I am interviewing today, got any advice?” Gary asks.

“Don’t need it” Mr. Bourdine shortly answers.

“DONT?” Gary exclaims.

“Don’t need it and it will come to you. It’s called the Law of Detachment. Want it and it will come to you, that is the Law of Attraction… You got about ten minutes before reaching San Francisco, sit back, close your eyes and feel wanting it, see having it and be thankful it is yours.” Said Mr. Bourdine.

And it was those words on that San Francisco BART train that changed my life forever. I was put on a journey that I continue to explore today, educating myself on this universal laws, our connection to the universe, how we can manipulate and guide our experience how we personally see fit… and sharing what I learn with who ever wants to listen.

I sat back and closed my eyes. Mr. Bourdine spoke to me, softly, guiding me into this meditation. I saw myself at the interview and I saw myself employed…By the end of the interview I was hired.

Lets all look for a moment like mine with Mr. Bourdine, and share it with us all here.

Life’s simplicity makes it’s difficulty

It’s so simple that we human beings tend to over think it. Well, at least most of us do, those people that are living “the life” do not over think things, they know what they are doing every time with every decision is every situation. And if you are someone that claims not to over think things then it’s your thinking that needs correction. It’s always about the thinking. Everything begins there, in thought and every person on earth wants to change at least one thing about themselves. A solid affirmation practice will achieve this, as science has now shown that by changing our thinking we can actually change our physiology and change our DNA. Amazing, Dr. Deepak Chopra speaks of this all the time, you can search some of his current lectures or interviews and you will see for yourself. Dr. Wayne Dyer is another industry expert that has studied this remarkable proven fact.

Want something to be different, think differently about it and it will be different for you. It’s so simple to understand, yet most of us don’t do this. We fail to take control of our default train of thinking.

I do it. I catch myself all the time expressing negative affirmations, so I’ll quickly replace them with its counterpart. The trick for me was I found, created really, a method that made practicing affirmations everyday possible for me to sustain. It’s worked, two years into it and my automatic train of thought is very optimistic.

When we want something so soooo bad, this is when we begin this automatic thinking that rejects any thought of our receiving, there for we attract ways to reject what we want.

I gotta repeat that, not for you but for me… when we want something so sooo bad we can actually attract ways to reject what we want from arriving….Heavy.

The right course is to meet this issue at conception, and that is in the mind. We have to remember the law of detachment, for what ever is truly yours, set it free and if it returns then it is yours forever.

I’m not a super scholar, I’m not a Dr.

I’m just a thirtysomething guy full of a lot of love and joy to share and all I know is from over two decades of personal experience and observation. I’ve learned affirmations work for me, and affirmations will work for you, they work for everybody if done daily, every single day, forever.

Using affirmations to condition our thinking, enabling us to create our own reality, the way we want to experience life, is the way GOD wants us to live.

Think Positive! You’re gonna be thinking anyway, make it empowering!

Much Love,

The Illusion of Reality

Take a look around you right now. Everything that you see is there because at some point in time is was a thought. From this thought, the process begun that manifested the reality before you. Reality is only an illusion generated by our continuous train of thought. Change your thoughts and the illusion will change to fit those thoughts. Makes sense yes!
How do we change our thinking? Isn’t it something uncontrollable, like our heart beat and blood circulation?

I’ve learned, not at all.

Just like we would go to the gym to train our muscles and change our physical body. We can train our minds and change our thinking. This training is done with affirmations and meditation.

Affirmations are the practice of positive thinking. Training with affirmations everyday will begin to change your auto-thinking to match how you have been training.

If you were to train your biceps everyday for a year, a year later your biceps will have changed from what they were one year prior. Our thinking is the same way, by doing mental curls if you will, you can change your thinking to take on a new form.

Meditation, is the practice of clearing the mind of everything, and in my experience, these NEW thoughts of inspiration, motivation, love and compassion, have taken over my auto-thinking and I experience the manifestation of the life I am creating.

How important is your quality of life? It CAN be more, even if you feel that you have it all. We never really have it all, that is what living is all about, growing and evolving into better and better versions of our self.

Start an affirmation practice today. Research it on the web and find a method that works for you, and allows you to sustain the training everyday for the rest of your life.
Me, I have my affirmations mixed into my favorite music. This allows me to practice my affirmations everyday, without having to do any more than listen to my ipod, which I do everyday anyway. Now, I am able to mix in a few tracks that are empowered with affirmations and I train my thinking to motivate me and inspire me to become better and achieve what I dream of being. But this is what has worked for me. I built a web application called mindjamz that will mix your affirmations with your favorite music so you too can try this sustainable training method too. It has not been launched yet, but if you contact me I can set you up with a demo password and username that will allow you access to our Alpha test model. It does the trick, my friends, family and myself use it everyday.

Life is about love, compassion, understanding, forgiveness and peace. Make these your first phase of affirmations, get your mind, body and spirit centered.

Then meditate. If you need help getting started, Deepak Chopra has some great guided meditation available to download.

You life is in your hands. Actually, your life is in your thoughts.

Remove negative thinking…No more “I’m tired”

June 16, 2010 at 5:20 am | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

Try not to believe that you get tired, don’t get enough rest, can’t get to the gym etc…These are not ideas that you WANT present in your life correct? Then don’t put any faith into them. Going to the lake, listening to music, these solutions are all great, but the point is that they are creating solutions, which means they are creating problems. Solutions only exist where there are problems. The thing to do is, preventive maintenance all the time, so when we go to the lake it’s for fun, not to decompress. First, end allowing thoughts like…”I am tired, I didn’t get enough rest”. If you feel a little tired, say to yourself, “a 20 minute break to clear my thinking will do me good”, go and sit in your car, close the door to your office whatever gives you 20 minutes of privacy and relax your body and feed your mind positive thoughts and empower your will. Practice affirmations, everyday. Remove all the thoughts that create “problems” in your life. First identify what your problems/don’t wants are for you in your life and then form the affirmations around those to remove the thinking related to the creation of these “problems”.
Some women say ” I have kids and can’t take 20 minutes” or another person may say “I work 9 to 5″. I say to them, surround yourself with affirmations. Find a way that puts you in position where you see, hear or say positive affirmations. When the time comes that peace and quiet arrives, that’s when we give the affirmations a break for the day and allow the natural positive thinking function on its own.

This type of mental reinvention is the foundation of personal development, without the right mindset able to evolve consciously forever, it doesn’t matter what guru we study, what books we read or program we enter, mentally we breakdown and either quit or start over with something else.

By re-conditioning our thinking, affirmations are empowering us to function this way, the way we WANT to function, all the time and also attracting more people, events and situations we WANT because it’s what we are thinking about and how we feel.

When we really want something, why do we sabotage ourself

February 24, 2010 at 4:40 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

I did this all the time, and at times still catch myself falling victim to this nasty circle of self defeating ideas. There would be something that I really wanted and the thoughts that would dominate my mind would be in direct opposite of what I wanted.  I then would fail at receiving my goal/want/desire.

For example, while I was playing college basketball, I’d dream of being the guy that takes that last game winning shot, the time came for me quite often, and I was so in fear of NOT hitting the shot, that the negative thoughts dominating my mind would make that the reality. Sure, there were times I was successful, but in most cases we tend to think the opposite of what we really want when the opportunity comes out of our fear of failure.

The idea of having success with this opportunity was so great, that I didn’t want to risk losing this thought by failing at the real event.

Another great example was while I was selling real estate, I spent a lot of time studying and educating myself on the upper end, multi-million dollar home market, and wanted to take listings worth a few hundred thousand in commission. Because that was my dominating thought, I attracted the opportunity but then thought myself out of my success. “They aren’t gonna want to list this 2 million dollar home with me” The universe replied, “Your wish is my command”.

When I began to practice self-talk, empowering self-talk ‘affirmations’ my life changed.

As Dr.Wayne Dyer taught me, “Change your thoughts, Change your life”. Boy is that the truth.

Since, I do not participate in any negative activity. I do not allow negative thoughts into my mind. I become 100% emotionless when negative energy is near and I do what I have to, to eradicate myself from the situation and remain on the positive.

I’ve been practicing affirmations daily, everyday for a little over 3 years now and I have no intention on stopping. Why would I, my whole quality of life have changed for the better, I control my thoughts, and create my experiences. Why would I want that to change?

We tend to sabotage ourselves out of the fear of the unknown, what is on the other side scares us into remaining right where we are. Right where we are may not be totally what we want, but at least it’s predictable. We get comfortable with predictable. But, nothing is easy. The easy road in life will always end up hard, and the hard road will always become easy.

How much is it worth to you to live life at the level of abundance, joy, love and quality that you know you truly want. Not what you settle for, but what you dream of? The pain that you endure to experience this in the literal world is nothing in comparison to the payoff. And is really nothing in comparison to living the rest of your life accepting the mediocre.

Live the life you truly want. Talk to yourself and talk yourself into it.

In the game of life: Do you want to be a Champion or 2nd place?

February 24, 2010 at 4:31 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

“Most people consider life a battle, but it is not a battle, it is a game.”
- Florence Scovel Shinn
We all have areas of our life that we want to improve. Everyone does, if someone is telling you that they do not, then they need to improve on personal honesty. The first step in improving any area of life is to first become aware of what it is that’s lacking or what we would like to change or improve. This takes harsh honesty. The person that can look in the mirror and get the frank truth is the champion, not worrying about what others will think or say, just doing what is asked of ones self to improve.  The person that is self-conscious of what others will think or say are not taking the strides necessary for improvement. The person that is “getting it done” regardless of what others will think or say is the champion. This is the person that is improving and who will achieve the goal set out before his/her self. This person is taking action and striking off into a new direction. This “striking off in a new direction” is important. We all have heard the phrase, ” can’t continue to do the same things and expect a different result”. If you are seeking something different in a certain area then you must strike off in a new direction to find something new. We tend to justify ways around doing something different, and that’s fine if you are okay with 2nd place. But you’re not in this for second place. Those that worry themselves about other peoples perspective of them tend to be content with where they are. It’s predictable and with prediction comes comfort, we know what to expect and that makes us feel ok, and just accept life for whatever it is and not taking control of our own life to make it just how we want it. We all are more than capable of being a personal champion, yes you are, I don’t care what you think or what reason you give to say other wise, but you are a true champion. We all just have to get to the starting line. The starting line is like I said before, look in the mirror and tell the truth to yourself.  That’s where we start, from there the race in on. It does get hard on us at times, but does that mean we quit? I’ll answer that question with another question, Do champions quit? We can do it. We all have the power of the universe within us. Nothing in our outside world can stop us. Only we can stop our self by not believing in our self.  We can do anything that we believe, and what you believe is up to you no one else. A life champion is honest with themselves and does the work to make the improvements that win the game, 2nd place finds ways to lick their wounds, justify why it’s ok to accept things for what they are, even if it does not bring abundant joy, love and happiness into their life. You are not 2nd place, I believe in you, I believe you are a champion.

The Affirmations to assist you in making a conscious
effort to elevate your beliefs and
empower your life

(Created by : DR. WAYNE DYER)

It will be difficult: I have the ability to accomplish any task I set my mind to with ease and comfort.
It’s going to be risky: Being myself involves no risk. It is my ultimate truth, and I live it fearlessly.
It will take a long time: I have infinite patience when it comes to fulfilling my destiny.
There will be family drama: I would rather be loathed for who I am than loved for who I am not.
I don’t deserve it: I am a Divine creation, a piece of God. Therefore, I cannot be undeserving.
It’s not my nature: My essential nature is perfect and faultless. It is to this nature that I return.
I can’t afford it: I am connected to an unlimited source of abundance.
No one will help me: The right circumstances and the right people are already here and will show up on time.
It has never happened before: I am willing to attract all that I desire, beginning here and now.
I’m not strong enough: I have access to unlimited assistance. My strength comes from my connection to my source of being.
I’m not smart enough: I am a creation of the Divine Mind; all is perfect, and I am a genius in my own right.
I’m too old (or not old enough): I am an infinite being. The age of my body has no bearing on what I do or who I am.
The rules won’t let me: I live my life according to Divine rules.
It’s too big: I think only about what I can do now. By thinking small, I accomplish great things.
I don’t have the energy: I feel passionately about my life, and this passion fills me with excitement and energy.
It’s my personal family history: I live in the present moment by being grateful for all of my life experiences as a child.
I’m too busy: As I unclutter my life, I free myself to answer the callings of my soul.
I’m too scared: I can accomplish anything I put my mind to, because I know that I am never alone.

Affirmations – a better quality of life

December 11, 2009 at 1:55 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

Affirmations have been in practice for hundreds of years. A pharmacist in the early 1900′s tested the idea of positive thinking when issuing med’s to his clients. With some, he would hand them placebo pills (sugar pills) and tell them a story, like how he hasnt heard good things about these pills and that they should come and see him right aways if they don’t see any improvement, and then he would take that same story and change it around, giving out the sugar pills and telling his clients that these are the best on the market, and the he has seen these pills work miracles, that they are affective and that they work quickly, this test was astounding yet predictable. Of course the people who we told the horror stories would hold that idea in their mind and this way of thought would lead to only negative results, which it did, when they returned to the clinic, in some cases in worse shape than before, and remember these were only sugar pills, this downgrade in health was caused by what they were thinking in their minds. The people who were told the story of great success were on a road to recovery. I’ll remind you, they were sugar pills. Two groups of people, two different stories, same pills, two different results. How can this be? Because everything, YES EVERYTHING, is created out of thought. It all begins with what is going in with our thinking.

A lot of the time, people of great faith get upset with this fact. This makes no sense, this is not a practice of religion, this is a practice of self-love and worth.

Affirmations change lives, they do so because it’s our thinking that creates our feelings, and it’s our feelings that are emitted out into to universe and returned back to us in the form of people we meet, situations we find ourselves in, circumstances and events. If you are in a self-defeating thought, then those are the sort of events, situations, circumstances and people you will attract into your life, it will continue to keep you on this ride bringing more things into it to make you feel the same, because that’s they way you feel. Change the way you feel by changing the way you think, and do it with affirmations. With the practice of affirmations, you can mold your thinking to shape your life according to the goals and dreams you hold onto. Isn’t this a no brainer? Duh, yes it is, but then way do so many people procrastinate getting affirmations involved into their life? Well, that’s easy, practicing affirmations everyday is a hard practice to sustain. They get boring and mundane and most people simply give up or continue to start over and then stop and start over and they do this again and again and never experience any result.

Sure, writing out your affirmations everyday will make a big difference, but is that something that you can sustain for the rest of your life? If so great!

I believe that there is a solution to this problem standing in your way of living the life that you dream of and deserve. It’s a digital affirmation tool called MindJamz. With MindJamz you can take your affirmations and embed them into your favorite music, as long as you continue to change-up your music, just like you already do with your iTunes playlists, your practice of affirmations never will bore you and you can sustain this practice and change your life, one song at a time.

Affirmations. What are they? Are they just thoughts?

Just thoughts? It is from thinking that everything that we know as real today in our everyday life as become.

The clothes that you are wearing now, the computer you are reading this on, the chair that you sit in inside the building you are in all begin at some time as a thought. The origin of everything is thought.

What is thought?

I tend to look at it as magnetic energy.

A magnet is not powered on, it is on, all the time. Magnetic waves of energy are boomeranging back and forth, pulling like energy to it. Things that react to a magnet do so because of similarities within. This energy of magnetism is the energy that creates electricity.

The Hoover Dam, Wind turbines etc, use magnets to create energy. For example, the wind turns the windmill arms which turns a generator at high speeds creating a powerful magnetic field, it’s this field of magnetic energy that is the origin of electricity.

How does all this apply to me and affirmations?

We are magnets too!

We are magnetic energy, our brain is the generator to the power source the source being thought, the magnet is the mind that creates the magnetic energy to power the brain, the organs, the whole body.

“Thought, is like the wind to a turbine.”

This magnetic field within the meat, our brain is generated by the activity of thinking thoughts.

Good thoughts create a “good” magnetic energy field, and this energy flows through the whole body.

You can say good or positive, what ever gets the point across to you. But the thing to understand is that bad thinking will lead to a bad field of magnetic energy. Most of us are powered though life by a negative power source. I’m not saying that most people are bad, no, just most people do not consciously practice optimism at least in one area of their life. It’s not even optimism really, more so empowered thought. Thoughts that create a feeling of self worth within. And motivate your to do good for yourself, others and live in harmony with your truths.

This is the type of thinking that leads one to ultimate abundance. This is a PMA, positive mental attitude.

Applying affirmations to your life, daily, without a question, will change your life to be just the way that you want it to be. Because, this is the magnetic energy within you that you created. Remember, magnetic energy attracts to it like energy. This is why affirmations work, they shift your magnetic field to be positively in line with what you desire.

No, it’s not magic, it’s not, POOF, here’s a Lamborghini.

If you are chronically thinking about a Lamborghini, and your field of energy is positive, then your experiences will attract events, people, circumstance and situations presenting opportunity to you, where as opportunity needs action to advance you towards the focus of your thought. In this case a Lamborghini. It will not magically pay your bills, but by getting your thinking in line with your desire and exerted into the universe though a positive field of energy, then opportunity will present it’s self for you to take action and begin to earn more income, maybe enough to buy that Lambo.

Gotta Take Action.

This really is sooooo important and the hardest to do. You can think the best thoughts and have the best feelings, but when opportunity comes a knocking you aint walking. If you are gonna talk the talk (think the thoughts) ya gotta walk the walk (take action). Taking action is a hard thing to do when you are attempting to bring drastic change to your life, and especially when you are talking about someones dreams. Opportunities are missed because one did not take action because they were intimidated by the fear of the unknown. Let me first tell you this, the fear of the unknown is nothing to fear at all. The situation that brings this “fear” is dream that you dream of, it’s the possibility of losing the dream that creates the fear. If you are not faced with the opportunity to live the dream, then you never have to give up the dream. But if you take action and get denied, the dream is dead and sometimes the person ends up that way too. But, there is nothing to fear, the “fear of the unknown” is only the identification of this common case. When you feel this way, remember that this is a pivotal moment that will bring you closer to living your dream. Making your current dream a higher version of its self because it is becoming more of a reality, all because you took action. If you do the same thing over and over and over and over, how can you expect a different result. You have to do something, doing something is taking action. When you are working toward a goal, and you are confronted with this all to familiar feeling, tell yourself that this is my moment to shine. This is my universe telling me that I have to take action and go for it. You will succeed. You will find success because it’s what you want. Just get your thinking in the right way.

How do I take action?

Practice affirmations everyday. Get your thinking in line with what you want. If you want to be a rockstar, you better practice affirmations for some serious confidence, patience and inner peace. Affirmations will give you the mental support not to take the easy road out of any hard time. The easy road will always get harder, you cant ignore something and expect it to just go away, it will come back and it will come back as an even bigger problem then it was when it first appeared to you. Take the hard road, get it out-of-the-way, the road will always get easier after. It gets easier because you are accomplishing fears and taking action against the fear of the unknown, building confidence, challenging yourself to do more and feeling closer and closer to living your dream.
